Ideal weight for a 219 cm (7′2″) man
For a man 219 cm (7′2″) tall, a healthy weight is 88.7–119.4 kg (195.6–263.3 lb) — the WHO healthy BMI range of 18.5–24.9.
The average of four ideal-body-weight formulas is 102.7 kg (226.4 lb).
Why two answers? The range is where health risks are lowest for adults; the single number is an estimate from clinical formulas (Devine, Robinson, Miller, BMI 22) — a reasonable target, not a medical prescription.
Height in other units: 219 cm = 2.19 m = 7 ft 2.2 in ≈ 7′2″ · 102.7 kg = 226.4 lb

How the ideal weight is calculated
Devine, Robinson and Miller are clinical formulas that add a fixed amount of weight for every inch of height above 5 feet (152.4 cm); the BMI 22 target sits in the middle of the healthy BMI range. We show each result and their average. Averaging them is this site's method, not an official clinical standard, so treat the number as a guide rather than a prescription.
| Method | Equation | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Devine (1974) | 50.0 + 2.3 × (in − 60) | 50.0 + 2.3 × (86.2 − 60) = 110.3 kg | 110.3 kg 243.2 lb |
| Robinson (1983) | 52.0 + 1.9 × (in − 60) | 52.0 + 1.9 × (86.2 − 60) = 101.8 kg | 101.8 kg 224.5 lb |
| Miller (1983) | 56.2 + 1.41 × (in − 60) | 56.2 + 1.41 × (86.2 − 60) = 93.2 kg | 93.2 kg 205.4 lb |
| BMI 22 target | 22 × H(m)² | 22 × 2.19² = 105.5 kg | 105.5 kg 232.6 lb |
| Average of the four | (110.3 + 101.8 + 93.2 + 105.5) ÷ 4 | 102.7 kg 226.4 lb |
|
Height in inches: 219.0 cm ÷ 2.54 = 86.2 in. Each result is rounded to 0.1 kg; the average is calculated from the rounded values.
Does age or ethnicity change the healthy range?
- For adults (18+), the WHO BMI categories are the same for women and men and do not change with age.
- Over 65: in a meta-analysis of studies in older adults (Winter et al., 2014), mortality was higher at a BMI below about 23 and was not higher in the overweight range (25–29.9). A slightly higher weight is often acceptable in older age — agree on a target with your doctor.
- Asian populations: a WHO expert consultation (2004) found that health risks start to rise at lower BMI values in many Asian populations and proposed additional action points at BMI 23 and 27.5. At 219 cm (7′2″), BMI 23 equals 110.3 kg (243.2 lb).
